Anabelle was born July 21, 2012, a seemingly healthy baby with a high apgar score. By two months old we were beginning to see signs of something not right. She was having difficulty gaining weight and looked malnurished. She was admitted to Children's Hospital in New Orleans and diagnosed with Zellwegers a Proxysommal disorder. We were told that most babies with her diagnosis don't live much longer than the first year of life. She had a feeding tube placed due to too weak to eat orally and her diet adjusted to a predigested formula, she has survived sepsis and a severe viral infection, and was hospitalized for almost two months beginning from November at Children's Hospital and later treated at Tulane Medical Center through Christmas and New Years. Now with new diet, home health nursing, OT and PT Anabelle is currently beginning to gain weight and has been not had to readmitted to hospital.
